The best way to Save Battery Life on the HTC EVO

Like thousands, I ran out there opening weekend and snapped up a Sprint HTC-EVO. The EVO is, without a doubt, the most excellent smartphone I have ever held. Yet the most significant complaint confronting the EVO is battery life. The good news is that I have identified several tricks and tips to extend the particular battery life by over 50%, and I am here to share associated with you.

The number one complaint I read about elite gadget mobile phones or smartphones is their particular battery life. The battery concern is not only relegated to the HTC EVO. I avoided the apple iphone and iPods for a few yrs because of their issues regarding battery life. Fortunately for you EVO masters, it doesn’t always have to be doing this.

Now, if you leave your current HTC EVO set up the way it truly is when you open the box, you will end up disappointed with the phone’s battery life. If you left your telephone on with the 4G community enabled, the battery life of your respective EVO would not make it from the day. I learned that the hard way. So, below are a few simple steps you can take to extend your personal EVO’s battery life by over 50 percent.

Tip #1 – Acquire the Advanced Task Great app from the app store. Merely was going to rank the necessary apps for the EVO; this is number one. Go to the well-known market on your phone, type in “Advanced Task Killer,” and acquire it. It is free. Upon having downloaded it, put it on your home screen. Click it, and you will see a list of every software package and task managed on your EVO. The first time I had it, I was stunned and will also be. Some of these apps with your EVO will turn on

quickly with no rhyme or motive. Unless you see the app’s management, you would have no idea. These blogs are bleeding the battery life of your phone dry! Check every app you intend to kill and tap “Kill selected apps. ” My partner and I check them all. I will transform them when I need them. This little one will save you considerable time on your battery life and is free.

Tip #2 – Download the Power supply Status Pro app from the app store. This would be number two if I were to status the must-have EVO blog. This is an exceptional app, and it is 100% at no cost. Once again, go to the well-known marketplace on your phone, type in “Battery Status Pro,” and acquire it. There is a paid in addition to a free version. You only have to have the free version. Fit this on your home tv screen once you download it. Engage it, and you will see a comprehensive breakdown of the

battery life kept on your phone. You get to the second time left in your battery in various modes: Standby Time, Talktime, Net Use (with or without Wi-Fi), etc. This software will let you know precisely how much time you will have for whatever you want to do. It is a great way to budget your current battery life so you do not waste material on something you don’tneed.

Tip #3 – Replace the brightness of your home screen. Out from the box, your HTC EVO will be bright as a summer day’s sun. It looks fantastic, but you do not need all the brightness unless you are in a dark place. Tap your current Menu button on the bottom in the EVO and go to Options – Sounds & Show – Brightness. It is possible to slide your bar to the left, which will color your phone and help you save many battery life. You’d be amazed at the difference in your EVO’s battery life once you make this easy adjustment.

Tip #4 — Turn off that 4G! I am still not persuaded that 4G is the be-all and end-all that Run is making it out to become. 4G is excellent, and a person pays for it, but it will draw your battery dry. You no longer need it. 3G is just as quick and will not do nearly the actual damage to your battery life as 4G will do. I just use the 4G if I possess my EVO plugged in somewhere. To turn it away, tap your Menus button on the bottom of the cell phone, and go to Settings – Wifi & Networks – 4-G. Simply tap the 4-G button and watch it detach. Your phone will now link to the network via 3-G. While in Wireless and Networks, tap the press button next to Wi-Fi. This will detach your EVO from regularly searching for Wi-Fi networks that can also drain your battery pack. If you want to connect to a Wireless internet network, just tap the idea to turn it on again.

Tip #5 rapid Adjust your email adjustments. Users can adjust the occurrence to which the network quest for their emails. If you have your EVO searching for your e-mails every 5 minutes, that research will help drain your battery every few minutes. Go to Messages, tap into the Menu button with the bottom-More- Settings-Send & Receive-Set download frequency. You may adjust the network to test for new mail every 5-60 minutes. Depending upon the bank account and how frequently you need to view new emails, I would recommend each 30 minutes. Now you can always start your messages in the meantime that can automatically refresh and start up any new mail. Nonetheless, this tiny adjustment may help save quite a bit of battery life each day.

Tip #6 – Let down your social networks. The ET? offers a ton of excellent apps for social networking. Myspace. Com, Facebook, and Twitter almost all have their apps. I feel it can make life much easier if you are involved with social networks. However, a default setting of all of these apps will keep all of them on indefinitely, which will provide you with immediate notifications across your network. This is all nice and good, but this tiny luxury will eliminate your battery life. Make sure you possess these apps all set, not automatically update. To ensure, faucet your Advanced Task Fantastic and kill them if they happen to be running.

Tip #7 — Make sure to turn off your home display screen. If you are like me, you love to leave your phone open up constantly for new emails, notices, etc. However, this will eliminate your battery and is not necessarily necessary. If you are busy or won’t need the phone instantly, just tap the switch on the top of your cell phone. This puts your cell phone into sleep mode. Your phone is still on, and you will find

notifications, but you will save time on your battery life by making the EVO in life mode. Also, ensure your property screen turns out eventually in case you forget to do this physically. Go to the Menu button at the bottom and then Settings rapid Sound & Display rapid Screen timeout. Here you could have the option to close your home anywhere from 15 seconds. For me, 15 seconds is too quick. I like to preserve mine set to 2 short minutes. I would probably save a little bit more life on the battery by using it down to a minute. Nevertheless, that is just too rapid for me and how I take advantage of my EVO. Either way, you could have plenty of options here, be sure to use them.

So there you go. I have transferred this advice to several pals who are now eternally pleased with the extra battery life on their EVO. Make all these simple adjustments, and the variation will be like having a pair of extra batteries connected to your EVO.

Enjoy your new ET! And remember… turn off that 4-G!
