Blogging is safe to a great extent. However, you have to avoid things that would get you into trouble.
If you want to blog for fun (personal blogging), do not add your personal information (home address, phone numbers, photos of entire family, e.t.c ) to your blog. There have been cases where people who keep personal blogs with so much personal information became victims of stickers.
When you blog online, you also want to avoid copyrighted content. Do not also use people’s content without permission or reference.
Keep these points in mind, and blogging will be safe for you.
Blog questions 2: What are some good topics to blog about?
The beauty of an online information marketing business, whether a blog or a website, is that you can write about anything as long as a reasonable number of people come online every day to search for information on the topic. So think deep there is something you know that others would like to hear about.
What are you naturally good at? What do you do for others without thinking that they praise you? A skill, a hobby, an experience, something you learned or something that annoys you? Think broader.
When you are done with the brainstorming, the next step will be to do complete research on all topics you have chosen, at least 3 of them, to determine which will be more profitable for you in the long run.
Your research will reveal how many people search for that topic every month. How many people currently write on that topic, and how deep is the topic? Are the related topics under that topic broad enough to form the overall topic of the blog? You don’t want to start a blog and get stuck on subjects to write on.
It is detailed research required at the beginning. If you choose to jump in without completely researching your topic, it will be like walking blindfolded without knowing where you are going or what awaits you.
Blog Questions 3: How do you earn money blogging?
A single blog can be monetized in several ways! That’s the beauty of it. If you put in the hard work, you can get good results.
The way to earn from blogging is through advertisements of different sorts. Some of which you won’t know what they mean now, but it’s basically about displaying adverts on your blog related to the content you provide.
The common advertising programs are:
AdSense – pay-per-click advertising program
Text links ad: Advertisements that are formatted as text links.
Sell ad space: If you have many visitors to your blog, other bloggers/webmasters will be willing to pay you to display adverts on your blog.
Affiliate marketing: If you blog about network marketing, you can refer your readers to other merchants’ products related to your topic. You get paid a stipulated percentage of the sale if they make a purchase.
These are just some of the ways to make money from blogging.
Blog Questions 4: Which is the best blogging website?
The best blogging website is that which meets the needs of your blog.
It wouldn’t be right to say this blogging website is better than the other. Whichever meets your blogging goals is the one that is best for you.
So when considering starting a blog, the first question isn’t which is the best blogging website. Rather what is my goal for wanting to start a blog?
What do I hope to achieve from it?
Would the content on the blog be mostly videos, audio, or text?
Would there be ads on the blog? If there would, what kind of ads will you use?
These questions and more are what should influence your choice of a blogging website.
You will realize that once you can provide clear answers to these questions, you can easily identify the right blogging software.
Deciding between WordPress and blogger, I will quickly add that if you are considering big-time blogging, you should seriously consider WordPress (the self-hosted version).
I did a tutorial on both software on my website, and I can tell you that WordPress saves you from many headaches you will have to go through with blogger hacks.
But then again, the bloggers will be perfect for you if you just want to blog for fun.
